Dear Valley Park Community
Weather – Procedure for School Closure
In the event of extreme weather, we would like to remind you of our Procedures for School Closure.
If closure is deemed necessary before the start of the school day, we will publish our status on www.kentclosures.co.uk by 7.00am. Kent radio stations KMFM, Radio Kent and Heart FM will broadcast a list of closed schools at regular intervals on their breakfast shows. We will also post a closure notice on the school website by 7.00am, together with an email/text sent to all parents/carers.
If closure is deemed necessary during the school day, we will text/email all parents/carers and publish this information on www.kentclosures.co.uk and on the school website. Students will be able to remain supervised on site until such time as parents/carers are able to collect them.
In the event of school closure, lessons will move online. Students are expected to engage in lessons and follow their normal timetable. Teachers will deliver live lessons continuing to follow the normal curriculum.
To access their lessons, students will need to log into Teams, selecting the appropriate lesson from the calendar on the left-hand side of the of the page. Selecting the ‘Join’ button will enter students into the lesson. Full instructions are provided on the next page.
Staff will record attendance to lessons.
