Cover Supervisor
The key function of the role is to cover lessons for teaching staff in their absence. However, we do not expect the Cover Supervisor to cover long periods of absence. This is a supervisory rather than a teaching post and is open to applicants without a teaching qualification, or those considering entering the profession. The purpose of the role is:
- To take responsibility for groups or classes of students in the short-term absence of their usual teacher;
- To provide a safe and controlled environment that allows students to complete the work that has been set to cover the class teacher’s absence.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. As part of the shortlisting process, the Trust reserves the right to conduct an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence and any relevant information found concerning a candidate's suitability to work with children will be discussed.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
