Semi Finals

On 20 January 2018, we got off to a poor start with Charles Darwin School going 1-0 up. However, we battled hard in terrible weather conditions and eventually our perseverance payed off with Ursula Fissenden scoring 3 quick-fire goals. With the opposition's heads dropping we managed to score two more goals making the final score 5-1 and putting us through to the final.

On Friday 2 February 2018 Valley Park School played Maidstone Girls' Grammar School in the final. Fans of both teams gathered at the Gallagher Stadium in Maidstone. Both teams started strong with possession equal. Valley Park earned a corner, with a great ball in from Megan Wilson, then Ursula Fissenden latched on to a loose ball and put Valley Park in the lead. The whistle blew for half time and the score was still 1-0. With a Positive half time team talk from Miss Wright and Miss Best, we knew we had to work hard to maintain our lead. Maidstone Girls' Grammar School came out strong and highly pressured our defence with some brilliant attacks and testing shots. The goalkeeper Lily Fowkes was outstanding with some amazing saves and with a fantastic team performance we managed to hold onto our lead, finishing the match 1-0.
